Assistant Project Manager

B+E is hiring a construction assistant project manager to support the project manager with the daily execution of building projects. They will help manage project documentation, track budgets, process submittals and RFIs, and coordinate with subcontractors, engineers, and clients to ensure work finishes on schedule and within scope.

Core Responsibilities

  • Project Planning & Scheduling: Assist in developing and tracking project schedules, monitoring critical paths, and adjusting workflows to avoid delays.

  • Budgeting & Cost Control: Help prepare cost estimates, process subcontractor invoices, manage change orders, and track project expenses.

  • Document Control: Process and track Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, and architectural bulletins using construction software.

  • Coordination & Communication: Act as a liaison between the project manager, field superintendents, trade partners, and the client. Schedule and run project meetings and document minutes.

  • Quality & Safety: Assist in preparing site-specific safety plans, conducting safety audits, and maintaining punch lists.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: Typically requires 3+ years of construction industry experience, frequently as a Project Engineer or equivalent role.

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Architecture is heavily preferred, though equivalent field experience is often accepted.

  • Skills: Strong knowledge of building codes, ability to read architectural plans, and proficiency with management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, MS Project).
