Cornish Commons is a student housing high rise on the Cornish Campus at the corner of Lenora and Terry. Capstone Communities entered into an agreement with Cornish to develop over 435 beds of student housing to replace an aging stock of former hotels along Denny Ave that the College had been using. Cornish contributed the land in a 20-year ground lease. In return, Cornish received the first 3 floors for administrative and class use and will take possession of the tower after the lease expires. Capstone manages the student housing during that period and receives the majority of the dues. Jon managed the construction portion of the 24-story project, protecting the College’s interests and reporting back to the Board monthly on project. The project was completed on time for the next year’s school start.
