In 2020 the Diocese of Olympia decided that the best use of its one-acre parcel of land in downtown Ballard was to redevelop it into affordable and mixed-use housing and build a new church, community spaces, and an early learning center within the new building. The Owner hired Heartland as its real estate advisor and issued an RFP to potential development partners under a ground lease structure, with the church purchasing back a commercial condominium unit and parking within the new building. Working alongside Heartland, Jen served as the Owner's Representative for the Diocese of Olympia to help select a development partner, and negotiate the development agreement. Jen managed the selection of the TI design team, and worked with Heartland and the Owner to finalize the transaction. B+E has managed other key aspects of the project including the design, entitlement process and overall project schedule and budget and will provide construction management services as well.
